Potawatomi Casino Expansion Underway
The Potawatomi tribe has announced that the long awaited casino expansion is underway.
Ken Walsh, spokesman of the Potawatomi tribe, said that the two hundred forty million expansion of the existing tribal casino will start this month.
The site of the casino will be at the east end of the valley, on the property off of Canal Street.
Potawatomi's expansion came after the ruling of the state supreme court against the lawsuit of Kenosha's Dairyland Greyhound Park in 2001 that would had limit the casino pacts to raffles and bingos.
Walsh announced that the expanded casino and the modernized parking facilities will be constructed according to their two year plan.
The projected plan will hire five hundred construction workers and an additional one thousand employees after the complex is completed.
The expanded gaming floor will triple the gaming space and multiply the number of slots from the current one thousand six hundred to three thousand one hundred slot games.
Roulette wheels and blackjack games are expected to be doubled from the present forty games.
Dining and entertainment sections are also included in the plan.
The casino is expected to attract a million visitors from Illinois that will surely boast the Milwaukee economy.
Architectural designs for the expanded casino have been approved by the city.
